4minute (Korean: 포미닛) is a South Korean girl group created by Cube Entertainment, subsidiary of JYP Entertainment. The leader of the group is Ji Hyun.
It was announced in May 2009, along with two of the groups members, Kim Hyuna and Nam JiHyun. Although JiHyun is known as the leader, many singing parts and centered dancing roles belong to Hyuna. On June 11, 2009, the silhouette teaser video was released online, along with their official website. The remaining three members identities were kept secret until June 12. On June 15, 2009, their debut single “Hot Issue” was released along with another teaser video and the profiles for each group member. Within hours of the song release, it quickly climbed onto top five within various digital music charts such as Cyworld, Bugs, Soribada, and Mnet.
Hot Issue (Debut Digital Single) – Hot Issue is the debut single of South Korean Girl Group 4minute of Cube Entertainment, Hot Issue producer Shinsadong Tiger composed “Won’t Give” (Track 6), a clean and groovy slow-tempo piece with lyrics by Hwang Sung Jin.
They released their second Korean mini-album HuH (Hit Your Heart), and also their first Japanese single, a remake of Muzik, in May 2010. They released their first original Japanese single, First / Dreams Come True, in October, before releasing their first full length Japanese album, Diamond, in December.
